Raising baby California quail :) Lophortyx Californicus

Here is a great link on all kinds of info on these great little quail (I have been a fan since a child in the California desert) http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/California_Quail/lifehistory This is a website that I have bookmarked because it has all kind of information on any bird I want to know about....and I love their "cool facts" .

Awww, they are so cute. Are they as noisy as baby chicks?

You know, it's funny...they were SO quiet and then I heard this explosion of birdy noise...coming from those tiny little birds! Fortunately it's not continuous!:P

I think Don is getting more quail this summer. On the other hand, he has been talking about getting rid of all his birds . . .

Our nephews just LOVED them when we had them. The eggs are precious!

What are your plans with them? Will you be keeping them?

Hi Lisa! I'm hoping to keep them. I'm looking online for plans for gamebird pens.

Either your mud room sink is absolutely ENORMOUS, or those little quail are really tiny! lol
