Hey! What happened????

All of a sudden, Fall is here. Fall in this part of the world equals rain....and lots of it. Actually Winter, Spring and part of summer equals rain too...in varying amounts.

Hmmmmm, guess I should have got that moss off the barn roof before the new moss started growing...

The cool weather has the emus racing around, and they were definitely wet. Here we built that nice little run in shed for them...not even sure they really use it!

Rain kind of adds an interesting look to an already interesting "emu do".....

Here's Ginger....

and here's Fred....

The chickens managed to stay dry under the overhang of the barn, I was hoping to get an image for the saying "Madder than a wet hen" but it's not going to happen today. This girl looks far from mad.....

Although I think they were all getting fairly irritated with me...didn't I know that I was supposed to feed them?

I started looking around for the sheep and the donkey and spotted them in the lower pasture...

The second one of them spotted me they started heading up the hill.....
They were definitely wet, and some were sporting some major VM!

Here's Bella doing a little cud zen with a nice hunk of blackberry vine woven into her wool....
Bevin and Ellen are looking a bit damp and Ellen has a lovely fern motif going on.....

Claire was thinking "Can I go back to Eastern Oregon now?????"

Flora was in such a hurry to get up the hill to see if there was something better to eat she brought a little of the lower pasture with her. That's Ilse, her best friend, next to her...

Disappointed, milling sheep, waiting for the hay to show up.....

Jasmine said she wasn't in the mood to have her picture taken and didn't I know that donkeys are desert dwellers and not fish?
The guineas also reminded me that they are originally from Africa and shouldn't be subjected to such abuse....

Coopurrrr, my little feral cat, was thinking that maybe I should be considerate and put down something he could walk on top of the wet pavement so he could get into the garage where it was nice and dry....

The rain didn't bother the young dogs at all, in fact, I think they thought it was funny the reaction they would get out of me by bumping into my bare legs with their wet toys....(almost said "wet balls" but for some reason that didn't sound right....)

Yep, you know it's boring here when all I can find to blog about is wet animals.....:)

I will be going on another sheep adventure soon though. :) Next weekend I will be heading back to OR to the OFFF (Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival) so hopefully will have some more interesting material after that! What? Am I picking up another sheep.....why yes! I'm picking up a lovely little Shetland ewe named Shady Oaks Matisse, a moorit HS (no t) sweetie. :) The scary thing is that there will be room in my trailer....I'm thinking about loading it up with something and only leaving enough room for one sheep.......

Those emus really make me smile. Wet headed emus are so funny.

Your golden laced hen is gorgeous. My Golden Laced Bearded Polish Roo would probably think she was a hottie.

Speaking of hottie....you should have just said 'wet balls' What fun THAT would be to bring to your attention! hehe

Love those wet sheep. Their wet wool reminds of dreadlocks hanging down.
My sheep turn talk and run stright to the barn at the first sign of rain.
I suppose Washington Sheep don't even bother, or they'd enver get outside to eat grass? hehe

Oh my goodness, poor Jasmine. She really needs a rain hat and jacket. She looks so pitiful sopping wet. :)

I love the wet emus :) I'm looking forward to seeing you next weekend! Are you coming down for one day or the weekend? You're going to need another Shetland ram to go with all of those ewes :) See you soon!

I have just put in a call to Sheep Anonymous for you. Their goat chapter really helped me out :)

Cute Emus. My hubby said the other day he saw some cute emus and gave me the look like he wanted some. I explained that part of my twelve steps were No More Animals.

Only kidding! But really every time you say you are going to Oregon to pick up a sheep I get this terrible urge to say, "Pick one up for me too"

Wow that's a lot of animals. I love your chicken. I'd like to get chickens but I'm not sure my 2 barn cats would let that happen.

Lisa, their wool always reminded me of dreads too! How could my GLW hens NOT think a GL BEARDED POLISH roo was a real hottie!

Shannon, I think I'm going down to OFFF on Friday night and stay thru till Sunday....depends on how wet I get camping out!

Goatgirl, just say the word and I'll be more than happy to pick up a Shetland for you! :) As a matter of fact, Michelle still has those gorgeous wethers......:)

Shula, your barn cats would be fine if you started with full grown chickens. My cats only go after chicks and teens if given the chance.

Oh how I wish you could send some of that rain down here!

I couldn't help but giggle with your images. Each one was funnier than the next. Also enjoy a visit to your blog. Brightens up the day, that's for sure.

Hmmm, wet animals, now that DOES look familiar! We've all been soggy too and the dogs have "redecorated" the hall by flecking it with mud! Oh dear!!

Lovely photos, I really enjoyed this post, thanks :)

It looks like that at my place also. I like the spikey look on your Emus. I think my sheep are growning webs between their toes. If you need help keeping sheep out of your trailer I have been through the 12 step program and I CAN HELP !!! :-)
See you this weekend at OFFF. Remember, I will have a dry and warm camper with lots of food.

I absolutely LOVE your last blog LOL.

I love the sheep photos with pasture in their mouth and in their fleece. I'm not the only one who suffers from large sticks or things stuck in them!

My animals give me the same disappointed look when I'm just there to check on them, and not feed them!

I love your black gulmoget...who is she out of?

Pamela, I WISH I could send you some of our rain, we definitely get enough to spare!

Mary, what sheep problem??? :)

Garrett, thanks for the compliment on my post:) I love sharing my animals. The black gulmoget is Sheep Ridge Elendil (Ellen) from Briana MacEwan (Call of the Wool) she is out of Velkrys Ebony by Underhill Jet.
