Silent Sunday
Ok, so maybe not so silent in the beginning.....I am missing my blogging and blogging friends, and have decided I need to set aside some time each week to indulge myself. :)
I recently went down to OR to visit my Mom who is in an Alzheimer ward in Eugene and my sister who lives on the coast in Florence with my "sig other", Guerdon. It was one of the best visits I've had with my Mother, even though she hasn't recognized me in years and has stopped talking, I think we made contact. She just kept staring into my eyes and teared up two different times. I really got the impression she recognized me, and Guerdon agreed. It was heart rending in that I think she really wanted to say something.
We stayed on the coast again in Yachats (pron. YAH HOTS) at the Adobe (dog friendly) and witnessed a beautiful stormy sea. The following are a few shots of some of my favs.... in a very random order, the lighting changed so often it was hard to pick the ones I like the most. ok NOW I'll be silent....

What beautiful photos, and very fitting after your visit to your mother. My grandma has started with vascular dementia. We thought it was altzheimers for a long time but just got the test results back. I'm finding it very upsetting seeing her so confused and unable to remember us all properly. I felt it again as I read your post and I truely feel for you. Look after yourself xx
I'm so glad for your good visit, but can only imagine how hard it is to see her "trapped" in her mind and body, unable to communicate the way she wants. You know, you're welcome to stop by for a Shetland fix any time you're down this way. Jackson would love a romp with his "girlfriend." :-)
I share your thoughts about your mother. Your photos express so much in silence. I love the sharpness of the waves. Please post more often!
I loved your photos and your thoughts about visiting your mom. We are getting old enough now, that so many of us have elders with dementia. Nice that you felt connected with her on this visit-- I'm sure you did.
Thanks for the great photo's taken from the Adobe in Yachats.....we live just across hwy 101 and this is what I see out my computer room window

Love your farm animals....I am a 5th generation farmer from Okla
Ah, I miss the beach. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I'm glad your mom had a moment of being able to know you were there, loving her........
Beautiful!
I've missed seeing you, Tammy! These photos are so beautiful! I can almost hear the surf pounding and smell the salt in the air!
I'm glad that you had a good visit with your mother. How comforting it must have been to see a little glimpse of her in her eyes.
((hugs))

Great to see you back around again. It's good to indulge yourself sometimes to lift your spirits.
I'm sad about you Mom, but also glad that you shared some special moments with her. It must be so difficult and bittersweet for you.
Wow. Those photos are just incredible! You captured the rough seas perfectly.
Makes me miss the ocean. I've not walked beside the sea for over 5 years. (wow. has it really been that long?)
I hope life is treating you good, my friend.
